Uniquely devoting his artistry exclusively to the music of the 20th and 21st centuries, pianist James W. Iman's advocacy of, and passion for, new music has made him in demand as both a performer and scholar.
Originally hailing from Pennsylvania, USA, James is fluent in the interpretation of every stylistic development for the piano since 1900.
2016 is shaping up to be an exciting and diverse year for James, who in 2015 joined the artist roster of ZeD Classics. The coming months will see the release of his debut album, featuring the World Premier recording of Gilbert Amy's Sonate pour Piano alongside Pierre Boulez's Troisième Sonate, and works by Arnold Schoenberg and Anton Webern. James looks forward to his upcoming residency at North Carolina's Mars Hill University for the Mars Hill New Music Festival. His performances there will include the Amy Sonate and the Boulez Troisième Sonate.
A client since November 2015, James is Promote Classical's first signed North American artist, and is represented by Zach Schwartz.
